ONGOING MINISTRIES

JR/SR HIGH F.U.E.L.  Sundays, 9:45-10:45am  Topical Bible class with large and small group teaching.  Starts up 9/20 and meets every Sunday in The Pit Stop.

SR. HIGH REFUEL  Mondays, 6:30-8:30pm.  Passionate worship, discussion and prayer.  Starts up 9/14 and will also meet on the 21st in The Pit Stop. Refuel does not meet the last Monday of each month due to our Pit Crew Leadership Meeting.

JR. HIGH FULL THROTTLE  Wednesdays, 6:30-8:00pm.  Friends, contests, gym time, snacks and devos are rolled into this weekly event, held in The Pit Stop.  Starts up 9/16 and meets on the 23rd and 30th as well.  The 30th FT is a "special" - it's "Mountain Dew Nite!"  Our message will be on "A Buzz that Lasts Forever!"

HIGH OCTANE WORSHIP  Sundays, 11:00am-12:15pm.  Relevant worship that meets students where they're at & challenges them to take the next step in their faith walk with God.  Meets on 9/27 in The Pit Stop.  We begin a 3 week series called "One Month to Live."

PIT CREW LEADERSHIP MEETING  This is our monthly meeting for all student leaders, leaders in training, and adult counselors.  We will meet in The Pit Stop on Monday, 9/28.  Note:  Sr. High Refuel will not meet this night.

THE SUPPER CLUB  Wednesdays, 5:45-6:15pm  Let us do the cooking for you!  Bring your family to St. Mark for dinner and stay for Bible classes & ministries afterwards!  We have some NEW menu items this year!  Suggested donation is $3 a person!  See the info board for the weekly menu!

Volunteers and donations also needed!  We need 1-2 adults and 3 students to help prep, cook, set up, serve, and clean up each week's meal.  In return, you'll get yours free!  We also need two families each week to donate the dessert (either brownies, cookies, cupcakes, or popsicles).  To sign up, contact student leader Taylor Shumate, or the Youth Guy!

SERVICE STATION MINISTRIES

SRTM SPONSORS ANOTHER CHILD!  We just received a letter saying that Hyo Chan from Korea has just been adopted into a family living in the United States!  God is good!  So now, we have taken on Alexandru Lupp, a 4 year old boy living in Romania.  He lives with his family who is very poor.  Our support will help with counseling services as well as day to day food and supplies for Alexandru!  We are asking that every student donate $1 a month to help with this sponsorship.  Giving envelopes are outside The Pit Stop at the info board.

OAK CREST WORSHIP:  Sunday 9/20; 1:15-2:45pm  Join us as we lead our senior friends in worship!  Students sing, do the Bible readings, & talk with the residents.  This year, we are doing two services simultaneously in two buildings!  For those who wish, we will hang out in The Pit Stop after St. Mark's worship until it's time to go (we'll even feed ya!).  For more info, contact Chris Rubino or Tom Chester.

BETHESDA FRIENDS:  Thursday 9/17; 6:30-8:00pm  Join us as we play bingo with our friends at Bethesda group home!  Contact student leader Heather Mahon if you can go!  Meet @ The Pit Stop.

MAPLE CREEK BINGO:  Thursday 9/17; 6:30-8:30pm  Join us as we play bingo with our senior friends at Maple Creek!  Contact student leader Aaron Oostindie if you can go!  Meet @ The Pit Stop.

CRYSTAL SPRINGS FUN & GAMES:  Thursday 9/17; 6:30-8:00pm  This is a NEW monthly project!  We will be playing card games, board games and Wii bowling with our senior friends at Crystal Springs on 68th Street.  Contact student leader Will Ennis if you can go!  Meet @ The Pit Stop.

WINTER WARM UP CLOTHING COLLECTION  We are collecting winter clothing for our Winter Warm Up service project during Holy Sweat Saturday (Oct 17th).  We are in need of winter coats, hats, gloves, scarves, as well as winter clothing (sweatshirts, long sleeved flannel shirts, etc.)  Please help us out by bringing items to St. Mark and placing them in the collection barrels outside The Pit Stop.

"APOSTLE'S CREED" SEMINAR:  Saturday, 9/26; 9:00-11:30am.  This is for all students needing to take this class yet.  RSVP with Pastor Meyer, meets in the Conference Room.

SPECIAL EVENTS

'09 SRTM T-Shirts!  It's time to order your NEW T-shirts for this year!  Shirts are black with our racing logo in white.  Shirts are $10 each or $8 each if you order 3 or more!  Order one for every family member!  DEADLINE FOR ORDERS IS SEPTEMBER 27TH!!!  Order forms are on the Info Board.

HOLY SWEAT SATURDAY  October 17th; all day!  We are planning a one day Holy Sweat Service Spree!  The WHOLE congregation is encouraged to serve, using the gifts God has given them.  There will be many projects planned for the entire day.  Some will last a few hours, others longer.  The best part is you will get to pick and choose which projects you want to participate in!  Mark the date, and watch for more information!  A big thank-you to our sponsors - Thrivent Financial for Lutherans & DVS.com!!!

COMING OCTOBER 23RD!  "Designed to Shine" a Bible study just for Jr. & Sr. High GIRLS!  It's a 6-week interactive study that motivates girls to make wise choices in relationships.  All the life lessons learned are drawn from a day at the beach combining thought-provoking reflection with big-toes-in-the-sand fun that draws them to Jesus! 

Each girl will receive a journal containing 40 beautiful pages that will encourage creative response as they discover how God can help them shine brightly!  Besides the study, there will be plenty of "girl stuff!"  Designed to Shine will meet 6 times during the year on a Friday night from 6:00-9:00pm.  For more info, see the flyer on The Pit Stop Info Board.

CONCERT LINE:  There are 3 great concerts coming to GR this fall!  Jeremy Camp on Thurs. Oct 1st (5:15-11:00pm); Creation Festival on Mon. Oct 19th (5:15-10:45pm) and Skillet/Hawk Nelson concert on Sun. Dec. 6th (4:45-11:15pm).  Tickets are limited and are going FAST!  See the Pit Stop Info Board for specifics on each concert.  P.S.  attend a Service Station Ministry and get $5 off a concert ticket!
