ONGOING MINISTRIES

JR/SR HIGH F.U.E.L.  Sundays, 9:45-10:45am  Topical Bible class with large and small group teaching.  Meets in The Pit Stop on Oct 4, 11, 18 & 25.

SR. HIGH REFUEL  Mondays, 6:30-8:30pm.  Passionate worship, discussion and prayer.  Meets in The Pit Stop on Oct 5, 12 & 19.

JR. HIGH FULL THROTTLE  Wednesdays, 6:30-8:00pm.  Friends, contests, gym time, snacks and devos are rolled into this weekly event.  Meets in The Pit Stop on Oct 7, 14, 21 & 28.

HIGH OCTANE WORSHIP  Sundays, 11:00am-12:15pm.  Relevant worship that meets students where they're at & challenges them to take the next step in their faith walk with God.  Meets in The Pit Stop on Oct 11 & 25.  Our message series is:  "One Month to Live."

PIT CREW LEADERSHIP MEETING  This is our monthly mandatory meeting for all student leaders, leaders in training, and adult counselors.  We will meet in The Pit Stop Oct 26.

THE SUPPER CLUB  Wednesdays, 5:45-6:15pm.  Let us do the cooking for you!  Bring your family to St. Mark for dinner and stay for Bible classes and ministries afterwards!  We have some NEW menu items this year!  Suggested donation is $3 a person! 

October 7th:  french fry bar (with various toppings), cupcakes, drinks  October 14th:  Sub sandwhiches (ham, turkey, bologna), chips, pickles, cookies, drinks.  October 21st:  Ravioli, breadsticks, brownies, drinks.  October 28th:  Hot dogs, mac & cheese, cupcakes, drinks.

Volunteers and donations of desserts are needed!  We need 1-2 adults and 3 students to help prep, cook, set up, serve, and clean up each week's meal.  In return, you'll get yours free!  We also need two families each week to donate the dessert.  To sign up, contact student leader Taylor Shumate, or the Youth Guy!

SERVICE STATION MINISTRIES

SRTM SPONSORS ANOTHER CHILD!  Our former child, Hyo Chan from Korea was just adopted into a family living in the U.S.!  God is good!  So now we're sponsoring Alexandru Lupp, a 4 year old living in Romania.  He lives with his family who is very poor.  Our support will help with counseling services as well as day to day food and supplies.  We are sponsoring him with a gift of $30 a month.  We are asking that every student donate $1 a month to help with this sponsorship.  Giving envelopes are outside The Pit Stop at the info board.

OAK CREST WORSHIP:  Sunday 10/18; 1:15-2:45pm  Join us as we lead our senior friends in worship!  Students sing, do the Bible readings, & talk with the residents.  This year, we are doing two services simultaneously in two buildings!  For those who wish, we will hang out in The Pit Stop after St. Mark's worship until it's time to go (we'll even feed ya!).  For more info, contact Chris Rubino or Tom Chester.

BETHESDA FRIENDS:  Bethesda bingo will not meet in October.  We will be doing an outing with them on Sat. Oct. 17th as a part of our Holy Sweat Saturday!  

MAPLE CREEK BINGO:  Thursday 10/15; 6:30-8:30pm.  Join us as we play bingo with our senior friends at Maple Creek!  Contact student leader Aaron Oostindie if you can go!  Meet @ The Pit Stop.

CRYSTAL SPRINGS FUN & GAMES:  CS fun & games will not meet in October.  We will be doing a special event with them on Sat. Oct. 17th as a part of our Holy Sweat Saturday!

HOLY SWEAT SATURDAY PREP NIGHT:  Thursday 10/15; 6:30-8:30pm.  We need some students to help us do some prep work for our HSS event on the 17th.  Contact the Youth Guy if you can help.  Meet in The Pit Stop and wear old clothes.

WINTER WARM UP CLOTHING COLLECTION:  We are collecting winter clothing for our Winter Warm Up service project during Holy Sweat Saturday (Oct 17th).  We are in need of winter coats, hats, gloves, scarves, as well as winter clothing (sweatshirts, long sleeved flannel shirts, etc.)  Please help us out by bringing items to St. Mark and placing them in the collection barrels outside The Pit Stop.

HOLY SWEAT SATURDAY:  Saturday, October 17th; 8:15am - 6:30pm.  SRTM is doing a one day service spree!  There will be projects for anyone from 3rd grade to age 100!  The day will be broken up into two sessions (8:15am-1:30pm & 1:45-6:30pm).  Participants may choose one or both sessions...and we'll even feed ya!  See the display in the reception area to sign up for a session!  The projects are also listed there!  Thanks to our sponsors:  Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and DVS.com!!

CONFIRMATION MINISTRY

H.A.B.I.T.S. Retreat:  Fri/Sat 10/9-10; 7:00pm-3:30pm.  This is for all students in the Confirmation ministry.  A flyer is posted on the Info Board outside The Pit Stop. 

"LORD'S PRAYER" SEMINAR:  Saturday, 10/31; 9:00-11:30am.  This class is for those students who need to take it yet.  RSVP with Pastor Meyer, meet in the Conference Room.

SPECIAL EVENTS

6th-12th Jeremy Camp Concert:  Thursday, 10/1; 5:15-11:00pm.  Tickets - $20 person.  We have limited tickets (ONLY 2 LEFT!!)...first come, first serve!  $5 & the permission form will hold your ticket.  The remaining $10 is due at the concert.  Special Deal!  Attend either Bethesda or Maple Creek Bingo on Sept. 17th & your ticket is only $15!  Information/permission forms on the SRTM Info Board.

6th-12th CREATION FESTIVAL THE TOUR!  Monday, October 19th; 5:15-10:45pm @ Calvin College. Join us for an awesome nite of worship and praise with Jars of Clay, TFK, Audio Unplugged, FM Static, B. Reith & This Beautiful Republic!  TICKTES:  $20 person; does not include $ for band souvenirs or food.  We have limited tickets (ONLY 5 LEFT!!)...first come, first serve!  A non-refundable $5 deposit and the permission form will hold your ticket.  The remaining $ is due at the concert.  SPECIAL DEAL:  Attend a Service Station Ministry in Sept. or Oct. & pay only $15!

"DESIGNED TO SHINE":  Friday, 10/23; 6:00-9:00pm in The Pit Stop.  This kicks off a 6-week interactive study that motivates jr. & sr. high girls to make wise choices in relationships.  Each girl will receive a journal that will encourage creative response as they discover how God can help them shine brightly!  Besides the study, there will be plenty of "girl stuff!"  D2S will meet 6 times during the year on a Friday night. 

"CELEBRATE SOLID ROCK":  Sunday, November 8th; 5:00-7:30pm.  This is our annual event where students, families and staff put on a delicious meal followed by a program that celebrates what God is doing in and through our ministry!  We need students involved in the meal and program...start thinking about what you will do!  Rehearsals for the program will begin SOON!  We also need lots of help from our parents...from helping with food prep to the actual dinner.

Celebrate Rehearsals:  Thurs 10/29, 6:30-8:30pm; Sat 10/31, 10:00am-1:00pm; Sun 11/1, 12:30-4:00pm; Mon 11/2, 6:30-8:30pm; Tues 11/3, 6:30-8:30pm; Thurs 11/5, 6:30-8:30pm; Sat 11/7, 12:00-4:00pm; Sun 11/8 - all day.

Other Help:  After school set up on Fri 11/6; students needed.  Students needed to serve dinner on the 8th; parents needed for set up and food prep on Sat 11/7.
